TL;DR

Head of APAC Partnerships (Fintech): Designing and scaling global partnerships to fuel Square seller acquisition, retention, and business growth across Australia and Japan with an accent on lead generation, co-sell, co-marketing, and product enablement. Focus on building C-level relationships with partners and leading cross-functional collaboration to drive measurable growth outcomes.

Location: This role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney.

What you will do

  • Define and execute a growth and product partnership strategy aligned with Square's GTM and seller acquisition priorities for the APAC region.
  • Identify, evaluate, and secure high-impact partners, leading executive-level negotiations to close deals.
  • Deliver measurable results in lead generation, seller acquisition, and pipeline contribution through strategic partnerships.
  • Launch product partnerships with clear GTM plans, co-marketing initiatives, and integrated roadmaps.
  • Build and sustain C-level relationships with partners to ensure long-term value creation.
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of partnership managers.

Requirements

  • 12+ years in business development, strategic partnerships, and/or product partnerships, with 7+ years in senior/executive roles.
  • Proven track record of sourcing, structuring, and scaling high-impact partnerships.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills, with experience working at the executive level.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect partnership strategy directly to measurable seller acquisition and revenue outcomes.
  • Experience building and leading global teams that work and collaborate globally, and execute locally.
  • SaaS, fintech, or payments background preferred; In-store experience preferred.
