TL;DR

Android Engineer (Android): Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure application features using AWS-native services with an accent on driving technically complex product features from inception to delivery. Focus on leading architecture discussions, applying AI-based development tools, and mentoring junior engineers.

Location: Hybrid in Austin, TX, USA (requires regular onsite presence Monday-Wednesday). Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $145,000–$175,000 a year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable hirify.global application features using AWS.
• Drive technically complex individual product features from inception to delivery, owning the full SDLC.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers to ship new features.
• Evaluate and apply AI-based development tools and workflows.
• Lead architecture discussions and propose technical solutions for long-term scalability.
• Support junior engineers through pairing, mentoring, and code reviews.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in Android application development.
• Proven ability to run projects autonomously and deliver production-ready systems.
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (Kotlin, Java, Python, Node.js).
• 2+ years working with cloud environments (preferably GCP), including deployment and monitoring.
• Exposure to secure API design, distributed systems, and microservices architecture.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, inclusive mindset.

• Familiarity with secure API design, distributed systems, and microservices architecture is a plus.
