What you will do

• Set technical strategy for your team on a year-long scale, owning backend platforms for growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with product management, analytics, and partner teams to shape technical direction for incentive systems.
• Define platform abstractions, APIs, and architectural patterns to enable product teams.
• Ensure robust monitoring, alerting, playbooks, and on-call practices for business-critical systems.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting clear design and code review standards.
• Help develop talent by providing actionable feedback, technical guidance, and leadership on complex systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Extensive track record of developing highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
• Experience building or evolving shared backend platforms that support Rewards, Loyalty, Incentives, or Experimentation workflows.
• Led complex technical initiatives that required cross-team alignment and long-term architectural thinking.
• Experience delivering major features or deprecating existing functionality through a clear technical plan.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills that support effective collaboration.
