Android Engineer - Platform

TL;DR

Android Engineer (Mobile): Joining the Android Platform Team to build tools and CI/CD pipelines that enable mobile engineers to ship features to millions of users. Focus on optimizing build time, managing the Dagger/Anvil DI graph, and improving CI/CD pipelines.

Location: Barcelona based. Hybrid model with a minimum of 6 days per month in the office.

What you will do

• Maintain and optimize Gradle configuration, plugins, and build logic to ensure fast and reliable builds.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and local iteration speed.
• Maintain and evolve the automated release process.
• Define the "Golden Path" for Android development, providing the modular architecture and patterns that teams need to succeed.
• Collaborate with iOS and Web Platform engineers to align on tooling, infrastructure, and DevOps culture.
• Manage and scale cloud resources (using AWS when needed) to support mobile infrastructure.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of the Android SDK and Kotlin.
• Extensive experience with Gradle.
• A passion for Developer Experience (DevEx).
• Experience using profilers and monitoring tools to debug complex issues.
• Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-module projects.
• Solid experience with CI tools (GitHub Actions, Bitrise, etc.).

Nice to have

• Experience with Gradle Enterprise (Develocity) or writing custom Gradle plugins.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) or basic AWS management.
• Previous experience in a Developer Experience (DevEx) or Mobile Infra role.
• Experience managing Design Systems from an infrastructure perspective.
