What you will do

  • Drive the technical roadmap for the Ad Marketplace and Pacing teams, advancing system sophistication, optimizing ad spend, and increasing auction efficiency.
  • Design, implement, and scale machine learning models and control systems for optimal ad marketplace operation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on machine learning strategies that meet company objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest ML technology and apply this knowledge to solve complex problems.
  • Work with teams to understand product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Advocate for and apply best practices in availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of post-Bachelor’s machine learning experience (or Master’s + 8+ years, or PhD + 5+ years).
  • 2+ years of experience with technical leadership or acting as a domain expert.
  • Experience developing and shipping performant and scalable machine learning models for recommendation or ranking use cases.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning and deep learning approaches and algorithms applicable to advertising, recommendation, or search domains.
  • Ability to design, train, deploy, and optimize state-of-the-art machine learning models for performance, reliability, and scale.
  • Excellent programming and software engineering skills, emphasizing clean design and production-readiness.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in machine learning, computer vision, or mathematics.
  • Experience in online advertising (ad ranking, auction, marketplace optimization) or other two-sided online markets.
  • Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or related deep learning frameworks.
  • Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site environments.
