Virtualization Backup Engineer

Virtualization Backup Engineer: Providing technical assistance and in-depth troubleshooting for hirify.global Backup and Replication solutions with an accent on log file investigation, system analysis, and problem resolution. Focus on handling complex customer issues from initiation to resolution, verifying recoverability of backups, and educating customers on technical processes involving 3rd party components.

Location: Hybrid in North Sydney, New South Wales. Must be based in Australia.

What you will do

• Perform troubleshooting and analysis, including log file investigation.
• Act as a technical focal point in relationships with fellow IT Professionals.
• Take ownership of customer problems from beginning to resolution, troubleshooting hirify.global and 3rd party components (Microsoft, VMware).
• Document all customer interactions accurately and within SLA in our CRM tool.

Requirements

• Fluent English (reading/writing/speaking).
• Fluent in Mandarin.
• Advanced user or administrative level with Windows Server (2016 / 2019 / 2022 / 2025) and Windows 10 / 11.
• Practical knowledge of TCP/IP (OS, firewall configuration) and networking configuration/troubleshooting (NAT, ports, DHCP, DNS).
• Ability to quickly learn, understand, and explain technical information.
• Ability and desire to take ownership of client issues through resolution.

Nice to have

• UNIX and/or Linux knowledge.
• VMware ESX(i) and Microsoft Hyper-V knowledge.
• Microsoft Exchange server administration.
• Database engines (SQL/Oracle) knowledge.
