What you will do

• Act as the go-to HR resource for Japan and assist the Principal HRBP in delivering HR services across the APJ region.
• Coach people managers on performance management, employee relations, and team effectiveness.
• Support generalist activities, collaborating with HR Ops and payroll for Japan workforce compliance and accuracy.
• Facilitate the implementation of core HR programs within client groups.
• Help build and scale HR processes in Japan, ensuring global policies are localized and compliant with labor laws.
• Partner with Recruitment, Finance, and Legal to ensure seamless execution of the workforce plan and employee lifecycle changes.

Requirements

• Roughly 5 years of experience in an HRBP or Generalist role within a fast-paced technology environment.
• Fluency in both Japanese and English (written and verbal) is required.
• Deep knowledge of Japan labor law and HR practices; prior experience supporting broader APJ territories is a strong plus.
• Comfortable handling HR Ops and payroll-related matters alongside higher-level business partnering.
• Experience supporting Director-level leadership and the ability to influence mid-to-senior management.
• Applicants must have the legal right to work in the country where the position is based, without the need for visa sponsorship. This role does not offer visa sponsorship.
