TL;DR

What you will do

• Act as the primary HR resource for Japan and assist the Principal HRBP in delivering HR services across the APJ region.
• Guide and coach people managers on performance management, employee relations, and team effectiveness.
• Support generalist HR activities, collaborating with HR Ops and payroll for Japan workforce compliance and accuracy.
• Facilitate the implementation of core HR programs like Annual Reviews, Total Rewards, and Engagement Surveys.
• Build and scale HR processes from scratch in Japan, ensuring global policies are localized and compliant with labor laws.
• Partner with the Revenue team to support talent development, onboarding, and workforce planning.

Requirements

• 10+ years of total HR experience, with 5+ years in a Senior HRBP role, ideally in a fast-paced technology environment.
• Fluency in both Japanese and English (written and verbal) is required.
• Deep knowledge of Japan labor law and HR practices is essential; prior experience supporting broader APJ territories is a strong plus.
• Comfortable with hands-on HR operations and payroll-related matters.
• Experience supporting Director+ level leadership and influencing mid-to-senior management.
• Proven adaptability to work in a changing environment where processes are evolving.
