Senior Backend Developer (PHP): Designing and optimizing high-performing backend systems and APIs for a fintech platform with an accent on identifying and resolving issues and driving product improvements. Focus on developing secure, well-tested solutions, integrating third-party systems, and improving existing API and backend systems.

Location: Fully remote within Europe (including EEA, UK, Switzerland, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Montenegro, Turkey, and Western Balkans) or other locations able to work within Central European Time (CET)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, document, release, and support software from scratch.
• Enhance and refine existing API and backend systems.
• Integrate third-party solutions to broaden the payment ecosystem.
• Run tests to ensure functionality and set up testing environments for new features.
• Fix existing bugs and debug developed software.
• Prepare necessary technical documentation and provide production support for implemented software.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and other team members for efficient task completion.

Requirements

• Understanding of best practices for optimizing PHP code and web products (caching, asynchrony) and supporting large-scale projects.
• Deep understanding of OOP, SOLID, GRASP, and a broad range of design patterns.
• Proficiency in Symfony for designing and implementing RESTful APIs, and expertise in Doctrine ORM.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL, including designing database schemas and optimizing complex SQL queries.
• Understanding of the inner workings of Kubernetes, Docker, and its components.
• Advanced knowledge of DDD concepts (Domain Events, Domain Services, Bounded Contexts) for complex business problems.
• Advanced understanding of CQRS principles and benefits, including asynchronous command processing and data synchronization.
• Advanced knowledge of professional architecture design practices, including designing and developing complex, large systems.
• Advanced knowledge of PHP integration test automation tools and libraries such as PHPUnit, Codeception, and Behat.
• Advanced knowledge of Event Sourcing development/deployment processes and microservices design/deployment processes.
• Advanced knowledge of Jenkins functionality, including advanced configuration capabilities.
