Lead Game Designer (GameDev): Leading and representing the design discipline in a game development team, responsible for translating business objectives into a clear, growth-oriented design vision with an accent on product roadmap design, team management, and design standard upholding. Focus on cultivating leadership, maximizing team efficiency, and ensuring sustainable output in a fast-paced mobile free-to-play environment.

Location: This is a full-time, on-site position based 5 days a week at our Montreal studio.

Salary: $103,600 - $129,500 a year (specific to candidates located in Montreal)

What you will do

• Hold and communicate a growth-oriented design vision for the game, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and is clearly communicated.
• Represent the design discipline in product roadmapping, advocating for design needs and driving the roadmap forward.
• Account for the proper management of the design team, fostering an environment of growth, mentorship, and coaching.
• Directly support and coach design leads, cultivating their leadership and managerial qualities.
• Maximize design team efficiency by ensuring time is spent effectively and advocating for necessary tools and processes.
• Set, uphold, and champion design standards, ensuring features and content meet product and player expectations.

Requirements

• BSc / BA or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in game development, with 4+ years in mobile free-to-play.
• 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
• Strong skills in Communication, Collaboration, and Leadership.
• Strong understanding of technologies associated with game development and production.
• Remains current on competitor products, industry trends, and techniques in game design.

Nice to have

• AAA large-scale development experience.
