Location: Preference is for our CFO to be within 50 miles from one of our Torc office locations (Ann Arbor, MI; Blacksburg, VA; Dallas Fort-Worth, TX; or Montreal, Canada). For the ideal candidate, we are open to Remote based in central or eastern time zones (US).
Salary: $409,100 – $490,900 USD

What you will do
- Shape and execute the enterprise financial strategy aligned with commercialization.
- Provide data-driven insights to inform decision-making and resource allocation.
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and long-range modeling in an R&D-heavy, capital-intensive environment.
- Oversee accounting, audit, tax, treasury, and internal controls for US and Canadian operations.
- Support capital raise, debt management, and partnership creation, and communicate financial outlook to stakeholders.
- Partner cross-functionally to model unit economics, cost of commercialization, and pricing frameworks.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in finance leadership roles; at least 5 years at the executive level.
- Demonstrated experience supporting a company through its path to commercialization (from R&D to early revenue operations).
- Background in autonomous systems, robotics, advanced mobility, SaaS, deep-tech, or complex engineering environments.
- Experience managing large-scale R&D budgets ($250M+).
- Proven capital markets, investor relations, and fundraising expertise.
- Strong understanding of multi-state U.S. and Canadian financial and compliance requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience working with High Growth or Technology companies, and/or companies that have recently IPO'ed.
- Experience with Workday Financials.
- Licensed CPA.
- Public Accounting Experience.
