Software Engineer (Fintech, Go): Building and optimizing a next-generation investment platform and a mobile-first investment app with an accent on the full software development lifecycle, efficient processes, and automation. Location: Hybrid working in the UK, requiring a minimum of 50% of working time per month in the office, including one day a month in the Bristol office. Initial period will be full-time in the office to onboard and build relationships.

What you will do

• Engage in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and production support.
• Work within a distributed, self-motivated, and collaborative team, emphasizing remote and asynchronous communication.
• Iteratively improve new products while adhering to agreed design and architectural principles.
• Continuously seek ways to enhance products, processes, and practices, promoting automation.
• Utilize automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment practices.
• Collaborate across specialisms, assisting in various technologies when needed.

Requirements

• Excellent programming and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of software design patterns and paradigms (OOP, DDD, MVC, microservices, containers/orchestration, event-driven architecture).
• Ability to create straightforward and well-tested code.
• Ownership of tasks and problems, knowing when to ask for help.
• Must be based in the UK and available for hybrid working in Manchester, London, or Bristol.
• English: B2 required.

Nice to have

• Experience working with Investment or Pensions platforms.
• Prior knowledge of Go, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, TypeScript, Vue, Dart, Flutter.
