Staff Fullstack Engineer (Fintech): Develop and optimize scalable frontend and backend payment systems using React, TypeScript, and Kotlin with an accent on simplifying architecture, improving reliability, and compliance at scale. Focus on designing cross-squad technical patterns, mentoring engineers, and driving adoption of GenAI tools to enhance delivery consistency and security.

What you will do

Define and implement cross-squad technical patterns such as authentication, design system tokens, and tracing.
Design, develop, and deploy high-quality web applications using React and TypeScript.
Design and deliver scalable backend services using Kotlin.
Establish SLOs and incident management practices to improve reliability.
Partner with Product and Design to align technical strategies with business goals.
Mentor engineers and foster continuous improvement across squads.

Requirements

Location: Hybrid with presence in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom
Expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React with Hooks, Redux, HTML5, and SASS/CSS.
Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing tools like Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or Cypress.
Backend development experience in Kotlin or Java using REST and OpenAPI.
Strong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices; Azure DevOps experience beneficial.
Proven mentoring and leadership skills across multiple engineering teams.

Nice to have

Familiarity with Nx and Micro Frontend architectures.
Knowledge of UX and UI principles and collaboration with design teams.
Experience with GenAI technologies such as GitHub Copilot.
