What you will do

• Drive technical vision and architecture decisions, including transition to microservices.
• Lead, mentor, and grow engineering teams fostering collaboration and autonomy.
• Ensure timely, quality project delivery aligned with product and design teams.
• Introduce best practices in software development, QA, and CI/CD to boost productivity.
• Act as liaison between engineering and other departments to ensure transparency and alignment.
• Balance feature development with technical debt reduction and infrastructure improvements.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or near Berlin, Germany (hybrid work model)
• 5+ years engineering leadership experience in SaaS environments.
• Strong knowledge of modern web technologies and architecture transitions (monolith to microservices).
• Experience with frontend frameworks (React) and backend services (Node.js, Python).
• Metrics-driven mindset using tools like DORA metrics to improve team performance.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage diverse teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with micro-frontend platforms.
• Knowledge of photography industry workflows or B2B SaaS experience.
