Location: Hybrid (onsite from San Francisco or Seattle hub location three days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Includes travel 2–3 times per year.

Salary: $217,000–$288,000 USD Annually

What you will do

• Define and own the long-term technical vision for core Marketplace, Scheduling, Booking, and Provider Operations systems.
• Architect scalable backend systems supporting high-volume matching, transactions, and availability management.
• Design and evolve matching, search, and personalization capabilities, including semantic search, recommendation systems, and applied AI patterns.
• Improve marketplace flows such as appointment management and provider discovery.
• Use data to instrument systems, measure impact, and optimize marketplace performance and provider-client matching success.
• Lead and mentor a high-performance engineering team, raising the bar for technical execution, communication, and problem-solving.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading teams or technical initiatives.
• At least 2 years building backend systems at scale, ideally in high-throughput or marketplace environments.
• Experience with P2P or multi-sided marketplaces (matching, ranking, pricing, fraud, fulfillment, or similar domains).
• Demonstrated strength in product engineering, deeply understanding user needs and shaping delightful, high-quality experiences.
• Strong architectural and technical sense – able to define a vision, influence direction, and drive execution.
• Proven ability to deliver complex, ambiguous projects that span multiple teams and stakeholders.
