Senior Backend Developer

TL;DR

Senior Backend Developer: Designing and implementing client system architecture and integrations with an accent on integrating business focus into performant, cost-effective, and maintainable code. Focus on leveraging and deepening expertise in technically demanding backend systems and applying pragmatic agile development methods.

Location: Our offices are in Helsinki, Tampere, and Stockholm. We’re primarily looking for someone based in the Helsinki area, but we’re open to candidates living a bit further away, for example, in Tampere or Turku - as long as you're willing to visit the client’s office when needed.

What you will do

• Participate in designing and implementing client system architecture and integrations.
• Integrate clients' business focus into code, ensuring performance, cost-effectiveness, and maintainability.
• Utilize various technologies including Java, Node.js, Kotlin, C#, Python, REST, databases, and cloud platforms.
• Apply test automation, continuous delivery, and agile development methods following the DevOps model.
• Work as part of client development teams alongside other experienced hirify.globalians.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of how modern backend systems work and are built, and how architecture supports business needs.
• Several years of experience in backend development, architecture, and infrastructure solutions.
• Strong expertise in multiple programming languages (Java, Kotlin, Node.js, C#) and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with various testing frameworks and CI/CD tools.
• Consultative and client-focused mindset with the ability to communicate technical solutions to various stakeholders.
• Fluent Finnish and English language skills are important.
