Senior Backend Developer (Magento)

Location: Remote; only candidates from the UK and EU will be considered. Occasional travel is required for team and client meetings.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain clean, efficient, scalable PHP and Magento solutions.
• Lead the setup, deployment, and technical delivery of Magento projects.
• Implement advanced Magento, PHP, and GraphQL solutions and optimize application performance.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and support compatibility testing across multiple devices.
• Scope and plan technical deliverables with cross-functional teams.
• Coach developers, manage projects as the main developer, and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of Magento 2, PHP 8+, and GraphQL.
• Understanding of automated testing concepts and frameworks, including PHPUnit, integration testing, and API testing.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix server administration and DevOps practices, including CI/CD and Docker.
• Experience with Git, Composer, and independent Magento project setup and deployment.
• Proven experience delivering backend solutions for e-commerce platforms and managing projects as the main developer.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, planning, coaching, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitHub, CircleCI, Adobe Commerce Cloud, Redis, Varnish, monitoring and logging tools, or Hyvä.
• Experience writing unit, integration, and functional automated tests.
