What you will do
- Design, configure, and install IT hardware and software components.
- Build and maintain complex heterogeneous lab and test environments (Windows, Linux, servers, clients, IP networks, VMs).
- Create concepts for manual and automated installation and configuration of distributed IT simulation systems, including air-gapped systems.
- Maintain and enhance existing systems, including software and hardware troubleshooting.
- Develop and monitor hardware and system monitoring solutions.
- Build and maintain CI/CD toolchains and automate build and release processes with scripting.
- Test integrated systems and create simulation scenarios.
- Analyze and reproduce error reports from internal testers and customers.
- Collaborate closely in an agile team with system engineering, software development, testing, and DevOps.
Requirements
- Completed degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of software and server hardware, modern tools and methods.
- Experience with software and build pipeline development (C++, Python, Jenkins, Bamboo).
- Knowledge of virtualization and container technologies (VMware, Proxmox, Docker, Podman).
- Administration skills in Windows and Linux systems, including network configuration and firewalls, automated with Ansible.
- Command line tool experience (Bash, PowerShell).
- Hands-on mentality and ability to independently adjust software and hardware configurations.
- Basic experience in testing and test automation is desirable.
- Fluent German and English language skills.
- Willingness for on-site customer contact and system installations.
