What you will do

• Build software to automate operation of large, highly-available distributed systems.
• Ensure platform security and promote security best practices.
• Document work and guide developers towards optimal solutions.
• Contribute to open source projects.
• Improve code quality continuously.

Requirements

• Location: Hybrid role based in Austin, United States
• 3+ years full-time software engineering experience with Go or Python; Rust is a plus.
• Experience deploying and managing Docker services on Linux.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, load balancing, and DNS.
• Excellent debugging skills in distributed systems.
• Experience with source control including branching, merging, and rebasing (git).

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes components like StatefulSets, Persistent Volumes, Ingresses, CRDs.
• Operational experience on bare metal large systems.
• Site Reliability Engineering experience at scale.
• Knowledge of performance tracing tools like ebpf and strace.
• Experience with Prometheus, Alert Manager, and configuration management tools like salt.
