Senior Backend Developer (Python)

TL;DR

Senior Backend Engineer (Python, AWS): Developing and enhancing backend services and REST APIs, integrating scenario creation and data pipelines, with an accent on application and infrastructure design, performance improvements, and data consumption across the platform. Focus on applying TDD, Dockerized integration testing, and maintaining project infrastructure and services within an agile environment.

Location: 100% remote, with strong preference for candidates proficient in Polish and comfortable with a Polish B2B contract due to language and salary considerations, aligning with core hours 7:00–9:00 + 8h.

Salary: 1200–1400 PLN net/day (B2B)

What you will do

• Integrate scenario creation and sampling workflows.
• Develop and enhance REST APIs and backend services in Python.
• Build and maintain data pipelines feeding upstream systems and the data layer.
• Enable data consumption across the platform, including the widget system.
• Diagnose and resolve API and system defects, driving performance improvements.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain project infrastructure and services.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Excellent hands-on experience with Python 3.14.
• Strong proficiency with Flask or FastAPI.
• Solid background in application and infrastructure design.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Pandas, Dask, or Spark for data wrangling and transformation.
• Practical experience with AWS (EC2, ECS/Fargate, ECR, Lambda/MWAA, S3, Cognito, DynamoDB, Aurora, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, SQS).
• Experience with TDD, unit testing, and/or dockerized integration testing.
• English: B2 required.
• Polish: C1 required.

Nice to have

• General understanding of probability.
• Experience deploying infrastructure with Terraform.
• Experience working with RDBMS.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering.
