What you will do

• Set goals and plan the development process for the backend team.
• Estimate task implementation times and organize team rituals.
• Create and participate in product QA and delivery processes.
• Build and support a development team from scratch, fostering professional growth and a culture of trust and mentorship.
• Define future technologies and development architecture collaboratively.
• Participate in architectural discussions within the department.

Requirements

• Must be local to Montreal, Canada area.
• 5+ years of work experience with backend development.
• Experience with Go, PHP, SQL, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud Platform technologies.
• Knowledge of Kanban methodology and ability to build scalable, fault-tolerant software.
• Experience in team management and leadership.
• English proficiency at least B2 level.

Nice to have

• Experience with modern frontend frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience developing CI/CD pipelines and automation testing with Playwright or Cypress.
• Familiarity with SAFe methodology and key-value/document databases.
