Search Senior Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Belgrade, Berlin, or London

What you will do

• Improve search quality through machine learning models, data, evaluation methods, and supporting tools.
• Architect and build core components of the search platform and model stack.
• Train and evaluate retrieval, ranking, and classification models, including large language models.
• Deploy search models, from boosting systems to LLMs, in scalable and performant production environments.
• Build and optimize retrieval-augmented generation pipelines for grounding and answer generation.
• Collaborate with Data, AI, Infrastructure, and Product teams to deliver high-quality search capabilities quickly.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of search and retrieval systems, including quality evaluation principles and metrics.
• Proven experience with large-scale search or recommender systems.
• At least 5 years of experience working on search or recommender-system projects.
• Strong ownership, self-direction, and execution skills.
