What you will do
- Work collaboratively to ensure smooth deployments, handovers, and operational reliability.
- Take ownership of and evolve the Kubernetes-based Application Tier across Azure and hybrid environments.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-native infrastructure using Terraform, Helm, and GitHub Actions.
- Improve and automate platform workflows, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and secrets management.
- Help shape long-term cloud architecture for research workloads, including scale-out strategies and HPC integrations.
- Explore and evaluate new technologies supporting research computing, high-performance, and reproducible system design.
- Contribute to architectural discussions, documentation, and cross-team decision making.
Requirements
- Experience operating Kubernetes-based systems, ideally in managed environments like AKS, EKS, or GKE.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform, plus familiarity with Helm and GitHub Actions.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking (VNet/VPC design, private endpoints, DNS, ingress controllers, TLS, routing).
- Experience with Linux systems, shell scripting, and at least one modern programming language (with a willingness to learn Go).
- Familiarity with Docker, containerized workloads, PostgreSQL, object storage, and monitoring/observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana or ELK).
- English: C1+ required.
