What you will do
- Automate building, testing, provisioning, and deploying of services.
- Manage infrastructure as code for review and version control.
- Harden and secure internal and external systems.
- Improve and maintain monitoring and alerting systems.
- Develop new tools for efficient software building.
- Help keep underlying systems scalable, reliable, and cost-effective.
Requirements
- Experience managing infrastructure with GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience with CI systems such as Semaphore, Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Travis.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tooling, such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Good understanding of networking concepts and protocols (SSH, DNS, SSL/TLS, HTTP).
- Deep knowledge of Linux and system administration tools, such as apt, systemd, and bash.
- Security-awareness and familiarity with concepts like defense-in-depth and the principle of least privilege.
- Familiarity with Python.
- Commitment to high-quality engineering.
- Available for at least 32 hours per week.
- Must live in the Netherlands (or be willing to relocate) and own a work permit (if a non-EU citizen).
Nice to have
- Familiarity with build tools such as Nix.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of Hashicorp tools, i.e. Consul, Nomad, Vault, and Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems.
