DevOps Engineer

TL;DR

DevOps Engineer: Contributing to the improvement and scaling of infrastructure and the smooth operation of a high-volume e-commerce tool with an accent on automating processes from provisioning to monitoring and alerting. Focus on managing infrastructure as code, securing internal/external systems, and developing new tools for efficient software building.

Location: Hybrid in Utrecht, Netherlands. Must live in the Netherlands or be willing to relocate and possess a valid work permit for the Netherlands if a non-EU citizen. Minimum 2 days in the office per week.

Salary: €4,500–€6,500 per month.

What you will do

• Automate building, testing, provisioning, and deploying of services.
• Manage infrastructure as code that can be reviewed and version-controlled.
• Harden and secure internal and external systems.
• Improve and maintain monitoring and alerting systems.
• Develop new tools to enhance software building efficiency and enjoyment.

Requirements

• Experience in managing infrastructure with GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with CI systems such as Semaphore, Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, or Travis.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tooling, such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Deep knowledge of Linux and system administration tools (e.g., apt, systemd, bash).
• Security-awareness with concepts like defense-in-depth and least privilege.
• Familiarity with Python.
• Must be available for at least 32 hours per week.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with build tools such as Nix.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with hybrid on-prem architectures.
• Knowledge of Hashicorp tools (Consul, Nomad, Vault, and Terraform).
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems.
