Software Engineer

TL;DR

Software Engineer (Backend): Designing and developing distributed, scalable, and performant software systems with an accent on reliability, security, and performance. Focus on building and improving service platforms, identifying and resolving production issues, and ensuring continuous improvement.

What you will do

• Design and develop reliable, scalable, and performant distributed software systems.
• Collaborate closely with other engineers, product managers, and cross-functional partners to deliver impactful features and improvements.
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable code, and participate in code reviews.
• Identify and resolve production issues, continuously improving the performance and reliability of systems.
• Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends and technical solutions to improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
• Pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with 3+ years experience, or Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years experience.
• Experience with large-scale, high-availability services with a background in reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Compelling interpersonal and cross-group collaboration and communication skills, with a growth mindset.
