TL;DR

Backend Software Engineer II (AI, Cloud): Building and optimizing core cloud platform services for a distributed data platform powering Microsoft products with an accent on database performance, scalability, and machine learning inference. Location: Expected to work from the office at least four days per week in Suzhou, China (within a 25-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office).

hirify.global's ObjectStore team builds and optimizes the core cloud platform powering Bing, Azure, Office, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.

What you will do

• Build and optimize core cloud platform services for Bing and other Microsoft products.
• Develop and enhance features for the ObjectStore serving platform, including secondary indexing, full-text search, and machine-learning inference.
• Contribute to a distributed data platform operating over 10,000+ storage tables worldwide.
• Learn from and compete with leading NoSQL, indexing, graph, and deep-learning serving technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• 2+ years of experience programming in C++ or C# or another object-oriented language.
• English: B2 required.

Nice to have

• Experience in search systems.
• Experience in distributed key-value store or inverted-index.
• Experience in debugging and profiling production distributed systems.
• Passion for distributed platform development.
