What you will do

• Apply AI and machine learning to improve news relevance, freshness, and authority.
• Design and build scalable, low-latency services for real-time news processing and queries.
• Develop multi-modal news experiences integrating text, images, podcasts, and video.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with program managers, designers, and editors to deliver AI-powered features.
• Experiment with generative AI and LLMs for summarization and conversational discovery.
• Continuously evaluate and improve models using data-driven insights and ground truth datasets.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Beijing, China.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant fields with 4+ years experience or equivalent.
• Strong background in AI/ML, ranking systems, NLP, or multi-modal models with 5+ years experience.
• Proficiency in C++, C#, Java, or Python and familiarity with distributed systems.
• Experience building news products or recommendation systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across disciplines.

Nice to have

• Master’s or Doctorate degree with additional years of experience.
• Experience with LLMs, generative AI, or real-time content processing.
