What you will do

• Create energy demand forecasts and related reports according to business needs
• Engage with key stakeholders to ensure clear communication on forecasting issues
• Design and implement improvements to codebases for stability, scalability, and performance
• Lead system design and development aligned with business requirements and strategy
• Monitor and interpret model performance and forecast accuracy
• Analyze business operations to identify improvement opportunities and propose solutions
• Mentor junior developers to support their growth and integration

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or able to work hybrid from Kassel, Germany or Manchester, UK
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with strong Python programming skills
• Expertise in data wrangling libraries (pandas, polars, numpy) and Microsoft SQL Server
• Familiarity with time series databases and MLOps
• Experience designing scalable ETL pipelines and knowledge of DevOps principles
• Strong stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, and proactive mindset
