What you will do

• Lead multiple data-focused teams including data engineering, search, experimentation, and data SRE.
• Set clear roadmaps and provide strategic technical oversight for large-scale data systems.
• Manage and develop managers and senior individual contributors in a remote-first, international environment.
• Collaborate closely with product management to align technical execution with user needs.
• Drive operational excellence by setting SLOs, managing incidents, and reducing toil.

Requirements

• Must be located within UTC-8 to UTC+3 time zones.
• 8+ years engineering leadership experience with 3+ years managing managers in data-heavy backend teams.
• Proven track record of shipping production data systems at massive scale.
• Hands-on experience with open source technologies like Kubernetes, Kafka, Spark, Flink, Hadoop, Ceph, Airflow.
• Ability to hire, coach, and lead globally distributed teams.
• Strong English proficiency (job posting in English, assumed B2 minimum).
