Staff Site Reliability Engineer

What you will do

• Triage and resolve complex technical problems related to system reliability.
• Enhance observability stack for RabbitMQ and Redpanda by defining SLOs and alerts, implementing profiling and logging.
• Improve reliability of RabbitMQ and Redpanda clients.
• Manage incidents promptly and conduct post-incident reviews for improvements.
• Collaborate with development teams to design reliable and scalable features.
• Monitor system capacity and performance, plan for future growth.

Requirements

• Must have 5+ years experience in Site Reliability Engineering or similar roles.
• Experience with message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redpanda.
• Proven ability managing large-scale, high-availability distributed systems.
• Experience designing SLIs, SLOs, SLAs with alerting and monitoring.
• Strong independent work and leadership skills.
• Significant production experience with Kubernetes.
• Proficient in Go, Prometheus, Linux, and troubleshooting message broker performance.
• Location: Must be based in North America Eastern Time zone for remote work.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of trading/fintech domains.
• Experience with low-latency systems, Loki, Tempo, distributed tracing.
• Familiarity with USE method, perf, bpf, pprof.
