Applied AI Engineer (AI)

Estimated base salary: $180K–$225K, plus equity

Windsurf builds Devin, an AI software engineer designed to reason about and execute real-world software engineering tasks.

What you will do

• Embed with enterprise engineering teams and drive measurable, lasting adoption of Devin.
• Architect and implement agentic workflows across engineering, QA, support, data, and product.
• Lead workshops, pair-programming sessions, and other interactive enablement programs.
• Help customers install, configure, and optimize Devin, DeepWiki, and MCP integrations.
• Track productivity metrics, quantify ROI, and build the business case for expanding Devin within customer accounts.
• Turn customer learnings into repeatable playbooks, best practices, enablement materials, and partner-led programs.

Requirements

• Degree in a STEM field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, technical consultant, deployment strategist, forward-deployed engineer, solutions engineer, or in a similar role.
• Strong coding proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or a similar language.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to diverse audiences and drive technical adoption.
• Strong commercial instincts, excellent communication skills, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.

Nice to have

• Experience leading developer enablement, platform adoption, or internal AI modernization initiatives with measurable results.
• Experience deploying or integrating LLM or agent-based systems in production.
• Experience founding or joining an early-stage startup where autonomy and execution speed were important.
