Data Engineer

Location: Porto, Belgrade with flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home.

What you will do

• Advise clients on successful technical data solutions.
• Communicate solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop, test, and monitor distributed data processing pipelines.
• Produce high-quality, reproducible datasets from versatile data sources.
• Collaborate with Architects, Software Engineers, and Data Scientists.
• Deliver projects in an Agile way, building iteratively for early value.

Requirements

• University degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or a comparable education.
• At least 3 years in data or software engineering positions.
• Experience in designing, building, and maintaining data products.
• Understanding of common approaches to data analysis, data visualization, and optionally data science.
• Experience with a variety of data architectures (e.g., Data Lake, Data Lakehouse, Medallion, streaming, batch processing).
• Experience with Cloud Data Platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric or Amazon Sagemaker.
• Practical data programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with big data infrastructures and concepts for storing and processing large data volumes.
• Experience with agile development and DevOps methodologies.
• Fluency in English is required.

Nice to have

• Hands-on skills or a keen interest in technologies such as Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Airflow, Kafka, Kubernetes, Terraform, FastAPI, Scala, R, Java, Typescript or .NET.
• Practical knowledge in AI API integrations or RAG application development.
