Salary: $116,000 - $145,000 USD

What you will do

• Create and maintain large-scale distributed backend systems for multiplayer games
• Analyze and mitigate platform costs
• Integrate with external APIs from platform providers and infrastructure services
• Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot backend systems
• Collaborate with network operations teams and play the game

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in North America or able to work remotely within this region
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Proficiency in concurrent programming with managed server-side languages (Kotlin preferred)
• Experience with data layer technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Redis
• Ability to balance persistence and performance in API design
• Familiarity with automation from deployment to monitoring
• Comfortable working in Linux environments

Nice to have

• Previous game development experience
• Experience with Xbox Live, Valve Steamworks, or PlayStation Network
• Cloud experience with Azure or AWS
• Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Experience documenting for network operations teams
