System Test Engineer (Zero Trust)

What you will do

• Collaborate closely with fellow test engineers, PMs, and development teams to understand all features.
• Define and execute in-depth product test strategies for new and existing features.
• Assist teams to quickly reproduce customer issues, test fixes, and update tests to close coverage gaps.
• Discover edge cases across Zero Trust products and partner with teams to find and validate solutions.
• Regularly set up, configure, test, debug, and troubleshoot network-related features.
• Create, maintain, and execute a suite of critical manual tests and leverage the automation framework.

Requirements

• Background in QA and hands-on experience with mobile and desktop device networking configurations across Windows, Linux, and macOS platforms.
• Understanding of how data is managed on each device and routed across public and private cloud environments.
• Adept at reviewing functional specifications, participating in technical design reviews, and designing test scenarios.
• Proficiency in setting up physical and virtual environments to properly exercise all features.
• Passion and curiosity for understanding how services work, crucial for debugging issues at all levels.
• Ability to distill complex scenarios into actionable reports and work towards resolution with development, product, and QA team members.

Nice to have

• Experience with manual E2E testing of network-based apps, especially VPNs (DNS, protocols, throttling, packet loss).
• Strong knowledge of L3 to L7 networking technologies (IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, QUIC, H/3) and proxying, routing, switching concepts.
• Experience with testing device connectivity across networks (wired-to-wireless, cellular-to-wireless).
• Proficient with running and interpreting traffic captures, gathering logs, and reporting test results.
• Experience using one or more Mobile Device Management platforms (MDMs).
• Experience with Python to understand automated tests and framework capabilities, and develop scripts to assist in testing.
