Senior DevOps Engineer - Talent Pool (AWS)

Location: Utrecht, Netherlands; hybrid with a minimum of three onsite days per week. Candidates must already be based in the Netherlands or have existing work authorization there. Relocation support is not provided.

What you will do

• Architect and evolve a unified application platform for building, deploying, and operating services.
• Build reusable Terraform modules, golden-path templates, and self-service tooling for engineering teams.
• Design and operate secure, scalable, highly available multi-account AWS infrastructure using Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, and CDK.
• Design GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines for safe, consistent application and infrastructure delivery.
• Implement security guardrails, observability, alerting, SLOs, incident response, and measurable cost and performance improvements.
• Help establish secure organisation-wide standards for AI coding assistants, including permissions, credentials, auditability, and review workflows.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering, including 3 years accountable for production AWS environments.
• Proven experience building reusable infrastructure adopted by multiple teams.
• Deep Terraform experience across multiple accounts, including module design, versioning, state management, and drift handling.
• Experience with multi-account AWS networking, least-privilege security, organisation guardrails, and secure SDLC practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability using CloudWatch and related tooling, containers, Docker, ECS or EKS, and Lambda.
• Existing residence or work authorization in the Netherlands is required; relocation support is unavailable.

Nice to have

• Experience governing AI coding tools at team or organisation scale.
• Azure experience and hands-on programming or scripting with Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• Software engineering experience in a product team.
