TL;DR

Principal Generalist Programmer (Unreal Engine): Developing and optimizing core systems for an unannounced video game across multiple platforms with an accent on clear, maintainable code and performance. Focus on building complex systems from scratch, collaborating within cross-functional teams, and mentoring other programmers.

Location: Onsite in Rotterdam, South Holland, Netherlands.

What you will do

Develop clear, maintainable, and well-documented code for engaging gameplay features.
Debug and optimize code at both low and high levels to ensure peak performance and quality.
Evaluate and communicate the potential impact of code changes to ensure smooth project progress.
Actively participate in code reviews, sharing feedback to elevate overall code quality.
Collaborate within a cross-functional team to design and implement core game features.
Rigorously test new features and offer suggestions for improvements and refinements.

Requirements

15+ years of professional programming experience, with proven skills in gameplay programming.
Proficiency with C++.
At least 2 years of experience working with Unreal Engine.
Experience building complex systems from scratch and improving existing ones.
Shipped at least one AAA game in your programming experience.
Experience mentoring and coaching other programmers.

Nice to have

Experience with Unity.
