What you will do
- Design and develop Java applications with automated tests to ensure business functionality.
- Implement and analyze application monitoring for health and performance improvements.
- Adhere to engineering standards within a cross-functional product engineering team.
- Collaborate with architects and other senior engineers to produce application/design documentation.
- Problem solve and debug production issues to minimize customer impact.
- Mentor and coach engineers to deliver high-quality, secure, testable, maintainable, and observable applications.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building enterprise REST APIs (Open API) in Java (min Java 11) with Spring Boot, Spring Core, and Spring Security.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, including Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, and Kafka API.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and working with GCP Cloud SQL and Spanner.
- Experience with TDD practices (automated unit and integration tests) and DevOps (CI/CD).
- Experience in designing and building high-volume, distributed event-driven systems at scale, fault-tolerant, resilient, and highly observable.
- Experience working with messaging systems such as GCP Pub/Sub.
- Good knowledge using modern technologies e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Github Actions, Istio Service Mesh, Helm, API Gateway, SRE, DORA concepts and metrics, and Scalable / NoSQL Databases.
- Experience with Public Cloud Solutions, ideally GCP.
