IIoT Senior Solution Architect

What you will do

• Develop and enhance hirify.global Edge across Python services, shell scripts, and the database layer.
• Build and test software locally with Docker and deploy solutions to Azure through CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate Edge deployments with industrial sites, file servers, databases, and machine interfaces using different protocols, ports, and access requirements.
• Diagnose network and connectivity issues and communicate findings to networking, infrastructure, and security teams.
• Apply IEC 62443 and the EU Cyber Resilience Act to solution design and operation, including certificates, secrets, authentication, and least-privilege containers.
• Maintain field-deployed Edge instances, support OT security, troubleshoot deployments, and document technical decisions.

Requirements

• Approximately 5–7 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent practical expertise.
• Strong software development fundamentals and experience building and operating production services, ideally with Python and shell scripting.
• Strong Linux command-line skills, including practical network troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, containers, Kubernetes, and SQL databases.
• Established software testing practices across development and deployment.
• Understanding of TLS, certificates, secrets, and service-to-service authentication.
• Experience operating edge deployments and maintaining software on field devices.
• Ability to interpret cybersecurity regulations and standards, including IEC 62443 and the EU Cyber Resilience Act, and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, take ownership, communicate technical findings clearly, and collaborate across software engineering, OT, IT infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity.
• Curiosity, a problem-solving mindset, and willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies and environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure and Azure DevOps, including cloud deployment and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, or S7, or strong willingness to learn industrial and OT protocols.
• Experience integrating applications with file servers and file-transfer services.
• Knowledge of Azure networking, infrastructure, security controls, and identity and access management.
• Experience with VPN-based or segmented network architectures.
• Experience with container hardening, security scanning, and application secret vaults or dedicated secret stores.
• Previous manufacturing, industrial, or OT experience.
• Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
