Syria Solutions Adviser MENA (Humanitarian)

Location: On-site duty station in Amman, Jordan, Syria, or Lebanon; travel to field locations up to 30%

What you will do

• Provide strategic programme support and guidance to country offices across the Syria response.
• Strengthen cross-country coordination, learning, regional coherence, and capacity building.
• Lead the development and management of regional and multi-country grants.
• Identify funding opportunities and develop donor partnerships, proposals, and business opportunities.
• Support return preparedness and durable solutions initiatives for Syrian refugees and returnees.
• Coordinate scenario planning, information sharing, regional analysis, stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and evidence-based programming.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of humanitarian, recovery, or development experience, including 3 years in advisory or management roles.
• Advanced university-level specialist knowledge in international development, politics, social science, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of institutional donor strategies, priorities, and compliance requirements.
• Track record of successful proposal development, funding, or partnerships.
• Experience working in complex and volatile contexts, preferably in the region.
• Experience coordinating programmes across different countries and working with cross-country programmes and donors.
• Experience with strategy development, planning, learning and development tools, and capacity-building resources.
• Understanding of durable solutions concepts and frameworks, including experience with return contexts.
• Project management experience covering budget monitoring, monitoring, evaluation and learning, donor reporting, modification requests, and evaluations.
• Collaborative approach to working with technical and operational colleagues in a matrix structure.
• Fluent English, written and verbal.
