Staff Security Engineer (Cloud Security)

Location: US Remote; periodic onsite travel to hirify.global headquarters approximately 1–2 times annually. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US for full-time employment.

Salary: $128,800–$161,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and continuously improve enterprise security platforms and scalable security capabilities.
• Architect security infrastructure covering endpoint protection, secrets management, vulnerability management, identity security, and cloud environments.
• Lead complex security engineering initiatives, including capability assessment, technology selection, implementation coordination, and operational handoff.
• Embed security controls and integrations across network, SRE, cloud, infrastructure, and engineering platforms.
• Automate security operations, orchestration, vulnerability remediation, metrics, and operational reporting.
• Provide technical leadership during security incidents, advise engineering teams, support audits, and mentor security engineers.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, cloud security, systems engineering, or a related information security discipline, including broad experience leading complex enterprise initiatives across multiple technology domains.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Advanced enterprise security engineering and platform architecture experience.
• Expertise with endpoint security, vulnerability management, secrets management, and identity security technologies.
• Cloud security engineering experience across AWS and modern infrastructure platforms.
• Experience with security automation, orchestration, scripting, and systems integration.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, networking, operating systems, and cloud technologies.
• Ability to lead complex cross-functional engineering initiatives, influence technical stakeholders, and solve architectural and troubleshooting challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and business audiences.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CCSP, GSEC, or comparable professional security certification.
• Experience supporting regulated financial services environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, automation frameworks, cloud-native technologies, and enterprise security platform modernization.
• Experience evaluating and implementing emerging security platforms and engineering capabilities.
• Network security experience with CloudFlare, Palo Alto, or similar tools.
• Familiarity or interest in using agentic tools such as OpenAI Daybreak to improve security.
