Cloud Engineer (AWS/DevOps)

Location: Hybrid in Malta, with an office-based team environment; participation in a shared 24/7 on-call rota.

Salary: €30,000–€50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

hirify.global is recruiting for a specialist cloud consultancy based in Malta that delivers cloud infrastructure services across customer environments.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable AWS infrastructure in line with AWS Well-Architected principles.
• Manage customer platform health, performance, stability, maintenance, and controlled changes.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and support deployments, testing, releases, and go-live activities.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines with automated security and code-quality checks.
• Implement operational automation, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and reliability improvements.
• Maintain technical documentation and runbooks, participate in post-incident reviews, and join the shared 24/7 on-call rotation.

Requirements

• At least 12 years of hands-on commercial experience with AWS and DevOps.
• Experience designing and supporting secure, scalable AWS environments.
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code, ideally using Terraform.
• Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Scripting experience with Python and/or Bash.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated security or code-quality scanning.
• Understanding of monitoring, alerting, incident management, and reliability principles.
• Good communication skills, including technical documentation and collaborative work.
• Proactive troubleshooting, independent technical research, and solution development.

Nice to have

• AWS Associate-level certification, ideally AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate.
• Experience using AI automation tools to improve workflows and ticket management.
• Interest in evaluating new technologies and developing proof-of-concept solutions.
