Infrastructure Engineering Technical Lead - Infra (iGaming)

Location: Malta; hybrid working model with options for remote working from abroad.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership across on-premises and cloud infrastructure platforms.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve reliable, resilient, secure, scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Act as a technical authority and escalation point for complex infrastructure challenges.
• Define engineering standards, reusable technical patterns, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and standardisation.
• Improve infrastructure availability, performance, observability, capacity management, and lifecycle modernisation.
• Mentor Infrastructure Engineers, collaborate across technology teams, contribute to the technical roadmap, and participate in the on-call roster.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a technical leadership role within an infrastructure or operations team.
• In-depth knowledge of on-premises infrastructure, physical servers, network equipment, and storage solutions.
• Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong understanding of Windows and Linux environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including leading the resolution of complex technical issues.
• Understanding of infrastructure monitoring, observability, performance, capacity management, KPIs, and SLAs.
• Ability to establish technical standards and influence engineering decisions across teams, with strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, project management, and organisational skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, Linux LPIC/RHCSA/RHCE, CKA, CKAD, CKS, or VMware VCP-DCV.
