Accounting Senior Professional (Insurance)

What you will do

• Support accounting and reporting activities, including financial transaction processing, accounting records, data analysis, and report preparation.
• Review and process invoices, resolve payment queries, and help manage credit control activities.
• Maintain documented processes and ensure accounting activities comply with legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
• Contribute to process improvement and participate in investigations or projects involving commercial accounting issues.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships and participate in internal meetings to share knowledge and develop strategy and best practices.

Requirements

• Some relevant work experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
• Tertiary qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Current or pending accounting certification.
• Experience with accounts payable, general accounting procedures, data entry, and data management.
• Experience using Oracle Financials or a similar ERP system.
• Ability to demonstrate accounting, analytical thinking, communication, critical thinking, problem solving, prioritization, risk management, and independent working skills.

Nice to have

• Accounting experience in a complex financial services organisation.
• Audit experience, with Big 4 experience as an advantage.
• Insurance industry experience.
• Experience in treasury or settlements.
• People management experience and a track record of taking accountability for personal workload.
