Security Specialist

Location: Onsite in Carson, California, United States; 9/80 or 5/40 schedule, on-call duty, TAR support as needed, and core business hours from 7 AM to 4 PM. Travel up to 10%. Relocation is not available.

Salary: $106,900–$184,300 per year.

What you will do

• Establish security and protection strategies, procedures, training, equipment, visitor controls, access controls, communications, and information-sharing practices.
• Manage facility security programs and security personnel according to company and facility protocols.
• Ensure compliance with applicable security regulations and implement measures to mitigate vulnerabilities identified through risk assessments.
• Implement workplace anti-violence prevention policies.
• Conduct quality investigations in support of the Corporate Business Conduct Office.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, Homeland Security, and other government agencies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED plus 8 years of law enforcement, military security, or industrial security experience, or a related bachelor's degree plus 4 or more years of such experience.
• Competence in protecting property and individuals, risk assessment, security incident prevention and management, and major security regulatory compliance programs.
• Knowledge of investigative interviewing, fact-finding, and Code of Conduct investigation processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to wear refinery PPE and physically perform field tasks; a hair drug test and physical are required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC Card.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without future visa sponsorship.
• Ability to work the specified onsite schedules, perform on-call duty, and support TAR as needed.
