Applied AI Architect (Public Sector)

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; or Washington, DC. Hybrid policy requires staff to be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office time.

Annual compensation: $275,000–$315,000 USD OTE, including target sales commissions or bonuses and annual base salary.

What you will do

• Partner with account executives to understand agency requirements and translate business objectives into technical solutions.
• Advise enterprise customers throughout Claude adoption, from technical discovery and evaluation through deployment, coordinating across internal teams and stakeholders.
• Support customers building with Claude Code, the Claude API, and Claude for Enterprise.
• Create and deliver technical deep dives and business-value presentations for engineering, IT, and executive audiences.
• Guide Claude integration, scalable architecture decisions, and evaluation frameworks for customer use cases.
• Identify integration patterns, share product insights with Product and Engineering, and travel frequently to customer sites for workshops and technical deep dives.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with US federal, state, and/or local agencies.
• 5+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or Technical Account Manager.
• Experience navigating complex buying cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to build relationships and explain technical concepts to C-suite executives, engineering and IT teams, and other diverse stakeholders.
• Experience designing scalable cloud architectures and integrating with enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with Python, common LLM frameworks and tools, or a background in machine learning or data science.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a field relevant to the role.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, teaching, mentoring, creative problem-solving, and cross-organizational collaboration skills.
• Commitment to using technology safely and beneficially to advance safe AI systems.
