Extracurricular Internship - Taverna Group (Neurogenomics)

Location: Milan, Italy; onsite position

Reimbursement: €800 gross per month

What you will do

• Investigate the cell biological mechanisms underlying neuronal evolution.
• Maintain induced pluripotent stem cells and culture iPSC-derived neurons.
• Perform immunofluorescence staining, confocal microscopy, super-resolution microscopy, and quantitative image analysis.
• Conduct basic computational analyses of existing sequencing datasets.
• Integrate molecular and imaging data to address the project's research questions.

Requirements

• Degree in biology, biotechnology, or a relevant field, or completion before the internship starts in Q1 2027.
• Hands-on cell culture experience and an interest in neurobiology.
• Familiarity with immunofluorescence and light microscopy.
• Ability to analyze and interpret experimental data.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with iPSC culture.
• Background in cell biology or molecular biology.
