Senior Solution Architect (Banking)

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; onsite position

What you will do

• Define end-to-end architectures for core banking enhancements, integrations, optimization programs, and related technology initiatives.
• Lead solution design from assessment through implementation and transition to operations, ensuring security, resilience, performance, maintainability, and enterprise alignment.
• Assess platforms and designs for technical debt, architectural constraints, integration risks, and modernization opportunities.
• Lead architecture reviews and technical evaluations, documenting decisions, dependencies, risks, assumptions, and remediation actions.
• Investigate complex defects, recurring incidents, performance bottlenecks, and platform stability concerns; contribute to capacity planning and end-of-day processing optimization.
• Coordinate business, application, infrastructure, database, security, delivery, vendor, and control stakeholders while monitoring governance, milestones, quality, dependencies, and operational readiness.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in solution architecture, enterprise technology delivery, or a comparable senior architecture discipline within banking or financial services.
• Experience designing and governing solutions for core banking platforms or other high-availability financial systems.
• Strong understanding of application integration, data flows, infrastructure dependencies, system interfaces, and service resilience.
• Experience leading architecture reviews, technical assessments, design assurance, and structured remediation of complex issues.
• Practical experience with platform performance management, capacity planning, batch or end-of-day processing, and technology modernization.
• Knowledge of technology risk, security principles, regulatory expectations, change governance, and operational control in regulated environments.
• Ability to translate business requirements and operational challenges into clear, supportable, and commercially appropriate technical designs.
• Ability to coordinate senior stakeholders across business units, delivery teams, infrastructure, databases, vendors, and control functions.
• Strong project discipline covering planning, milestones, risks, dependencies, governance, documentation, quality, and transition to support.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex architectural decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
