Senior Engineer, Service Exploitation and KPIs, IRIS2

Location: Betzdorf, Luxembourg; preference to work at least 60% onsite from the office.

hirify.global operates satellite communications services and is part of the consortium building and operating IRIS2, the European Union secure satellite constellation.

What you will do

• Lead updates to the IRIS2 Capacity Plan and define resource assignments for stakeholders involved in capacity allocation.
• Establish governance policies for government capacity, including arbitration, prioritization, and usage restrictions.
• Develop the IRIS2 Service Performance KPI framework, including measurement methods, reporting frequency, and target values.
• Collaborate with satellite operators, engineering, product, operations, commercial, and governmental stakeholders to gather requirements and resolve allocation conflicts.
• Maintain long-term service and capacity optimization plans, contingency scenarios, utilization plans, and KPI targets.
• Prepare utilization plans, KPI documentation, periodic reports, and status updates covering risks, mitigation actions, and performance trends.

Requirements

• Engineering bachelor’s degree or demonstrable equivalent professional experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
• At least 5 years of professional experience, including capacity management and/or optimization of satellite utilization.
• Strong computer literacy and fluency in English.
• Eligibility for ESA/EU SECRET personnel security clearances is essential, and readiness to undergo the required security clearance procedure is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Technical knowledge of platform technologies, satellite technology, satellite network operations, and earth stations.
• Understanding of CRM and financial tools.
• Programming skills in Java, Python, R, Excel/VBA, and/or MATLAB.
• Experience with Power BI.
• Knowledge of another language.
• Willingness to work at least 60% onsite from the office.
• Willingness to travel as required for project realization.
