Engineer, Satellite Platform Engineering (Satellite Engineering)

Location: Betzdorf, Luxembourg; on-site or hybrid remote according to the applicable policy. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally is required.

hirify.global provides satellite engineering and operations support across the full satellite lifecycle, from procurement and launch through on-orbit operations and re-orbit.

What you will do

• Monitor and analyze satellite telemetry, evaluate health and performance, trend data against models and predictions, and forecast changes affecting traffic capacity.
• Support satellite requirements definition, proposal evaluation, negotiations, design analysis, and integration with satellite operations ground control systems.
• Prepare test plans, conduct acceptance tests, resolve integration issues, and support mission design reviews, launch, separation, and orbit-raising activities.
• Develop, validate, and maintain satellite operational procedures, tools, and proceshirify.global, with a focus on task automation.
• Investigate anomalies, develop and implement recovery procedures, optimize satellite performance through engineering analysis and modelling, and prepare on-orbit performance reports.
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams and satellite users, and participate in rotating on-call support outside regular business hours, including weekends; some responhirify.global may require travel to a local satellite control center.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a similar discipline, with specialization in satellite dynamics and control, avionics, power, thermal subsystems, or a similar area.
• Proficiency with MATLAB and/or Python.
• Fluency in English.
• Eligibility under EU and US export-control authorization requirements for access to Space Segment EAR and ITAR information.
• Ability to work on-site or in a hybrid remote arrangement according to the allowed policy.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Strong skills in satellite systems analysis, diagnostics, data interpretation, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication, organizational, project execution, decision-making, collaboration, and continuous improvement skills.

Nice to have

• 1 to 3 years of applicable professional experience in satellite engineering and/or operations; new graduates are welcome.
• Knowledge of satellite bus subsystems from Airbus, Boeing, Lockheed, MAXAR, Northrop Grumman, or Thales.
• Additional courhirify.global or knowledge in Computer Science or Data Science.
• Knowledge of another language.
