Engineer, Terminal Engineering (Satellite Communications)

What you will do

• Develop and design satellite user terminals and baseband systems to meet technical specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Design test plans, objectives, criteria, and procedures covering functional, performance, stress, environmental, certification, and compliance testing.
• Operate test equipment and software tools, collect and analyze test data, and identify anomalies and improvement opportunities.
• Diagnose hardware and software issues and collaborate with design, development, quality assurance, project management, and other stakeholders on resolution.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts, tools, and frameworks to improve test efficiency and coverage.
• Provide Level-4 technical support for satellite terminals, ashirify.globals deployment risks, validate mitigation measures, and prepare technical documentation.

Requirements

• Recognized BS/MS degree or equivalent in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering, with knowledge of RF and telecommunications theory.
• 1–4 years of hands-on engineering experience with satellite terminal systems in development, systems engineering, or test and validation.
• Experience with RF measurement techniques, satellite terminal testing and verification, and auxiliary systems including IP networks, switching, routing, monitoring and control, and power.
• Knowledge of satellite communication systems, transmission standards, modulation and decoding techniques, and satellite communication paths.
• Knowledge of software development proceshirify.global, integration and test procedures, unit testing, and automated testing concepts for integrated software systems.
• Knowledge of electronic development cycles, integration and testing, satellite systems, and space-segment operational concepts.
• Fluency in written and oral English.
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally from time to time.
• Ability to coordinate stakeholders, analyze problems, prioritize work, manage projects and time, make critical decisions, and work autonomously in a culturally diverse organization.

Nice to have

• Software quality assurance or management experience and knowledge of software testing methods.
• Experience with test-procedure automation, automated unit testing, and basic software development through training or small projects.
• Knowledge of agile software development methodologies.
• Experience with GitHub, JIRA, SVN, SQL, IDEs such as Eclipse or Visual Studio, utilities programming, debuggers, virtualization, and operating systems.
