Research Technician I (Neuroscience)

What you will do

• Assist with laboratory experiments, technical procedures, and research activities.
• Review scientific literature and modify procedures to meet research needs.
• Support planning and technical operations, including controlled-environment and analysis experiments.
• Assist with chemical and physical analyses requiring standard procedures, ingenuity, and improvisation.
• Use computer equipment to control laboratory equipment, compile data, and record observations and measurements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of laboratory experience or experience in a related area.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus, and computer equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field.
• Research experience in neuroscience or a related field.
• Experience with immunohistochemistry, microscopy, behavioral analysis in mice, and tissue collection and processing from mice.
• Experience with electrophysiology techniques and stereotaxic surgery.
